SERIES OVERVIEW

A crisis is a time of intense difficulty or trouble and often requires us to shift into a gear that cannot be sustained over the long haul. Overwhelmed, our hearts fill with anxiety, we get upset, we shut down, or we may even slowly grow numb. Ultimately, this ends up effecting our relationships, our responsibilities, and our lives.

Jesus in his famous Sermon On The Mount begins with a series of declarations known as beatitudes. Beatitude means blessed, happy, favored or flourishing. In the Beatitudes Jesus shows us nine ways to flourish in light of our circumstance. Crisis is not new to the people of God and while we are in a particular time of crisis in our country, God’s plan is that his church would flourish despite the circumstances we find ourselves in.
