CHURCH UPDATE

The Well Staff

Church family -

Since the beginning of the Coronavirus pandemic we have all been affected in various ways. Some have lost jobs while others have struggled to maintain boundaries with work, and we all wrestle with our loss of normalcy. As a church, we have all been actively praying for each other, our city, and the authorities as they navigate what it looks like to move forward during this season. As the situation continues to develop we are having ongoing conversations and planning what it would look like for us to move from our in-home worship gatherings on Sunday to meeting together face to face once again.

We want all of you to know that at the heart of our decision making is our desire to care for each of you deeply, and we aim to be wise, thoughtful, and want to consider what the best way forward is as we plan to re-open our doors. To this end, we would like to invite you to join us for our upcoming Town Hall meeting where we will be discussing in more detail our plans for re-opening as summarized below, answer any questions, concerns, and discuss any feedback you may have as we anticipate re-opening.

For now, we are preparing to open our doors and gather corporately in August, but we are holding these plans loosely. We are aware of, and doing our best to monitor the situation surrounding COVID-19, and, above all, want to consider and care for the well-being of everyone that joins us on Sunday morning.

SCOPE OF RE-OPENING

  • Up front, we want to make clear we will continue to follow the guidelines that our governing authorities are recommending and requiring for church gatherings. In consideration of state guidelines, we will be changing the spacing between rows, and will be working with various volunteer teams in helping all guests sit with two chairs in between them. Masks are not required, but we welcome you to bring your own. We are still considering how we will provide coffee (if at all), and the best way to take communion together as well. Additionally, if you or anyone in your family has a consistent cough, has a fever, or have any other symptoms that indicate you may be ill, we ask that you stay home and continue to utilize The Weekly, our in-home worship guide. You can find more info on local safe distancing guidelines by clicking here.

  • We plan to re-open Sunday services and meet together again corporately during the month of August. In order to best care and protect our people and effectively use our space will be offering two service times, 9:00 and 11:00 am.

  • We know much of our church family has children. Considering the current circumstances, we have decided to not open our kids ministry at this time. Plans on when and how we can open kids ministry back up are still being discussed and depend on many outside variables. We know the difficulty this will present for families attending services. To care for parents during this season we will continue pre-recording all sermons and will continue to provide our in-home worship guides (including kids’ content) so families can still engage with church services on Sunday mornings in their homes. This will continue until our kids’ ministry can re-open fully. Once that happens, we will return to recording sermons on Sundays which will be made available the next day via audio and video.

WHAT’S NEXT?

Between now and our first Sunday back together, we want to invite you to do a few things alongside us:

  • Join us each Monday in June for our weekly Night of Prayer at Northeast Baptist Church, 2930 MacArthur View 78217. If you can’t make it, we ask that you still join us in praying for our church staff, the leaders in our nation, and for us all to be attentive to God’s plan.

  • Our upcoming Town Hall Meeting will be on Thursday, June 25th at 6:30 pm via Zoom. During this time we will give any pertinent updates and information, and also welcome you to bring any questions you may have. You can access the link to join our Town Hall Meeting by clicking here

  • Finally, please make plans to join us in July at 9 am or 11 am as we gather again at SABA to worship King Jesus!

We want all of you to know we genuinely care for and love each of you and want to say thank you for being patient and flexible during this season. We look forward to praying together with all of you on Monday night, and eagerly anticipate gathering together again in August.
