EQUIP NIGHTS

As we study the book of Colossians, we are repeatedly seeing that not only is Jesus Lord over all, but he desires that we mature and grow into his likeness. Far too often, there is an assumption made that ministry is for those who are paid by the church, but rather The Bible teaches that it is the job of the pastors and church leaders to equip Christians for the work of ministry. Ministry is a blood bought privilege of the children of God, it’s getting to be a part of the family business. Jesus has called you to be in ministry in every sphere of your life. Where you live, work, and play are divine assignments from God; that’s where you do ministry. When we compartmentalize different areas of service to Jesus and his church, not seeing all of life as an arena for ministry, we miss out on the bigger picture of what Christ has called us to.

In order to be effective ministers in our daily lives we need to be trained and equipped to do so. Throughout his letters to the New Testament churches, the Apostle Paul frequently shares how he labors, toils, and struggles to help equip Christians to live out their God-given calling as mature Christian ministers.

So, in the spirit and zeal of the New Testament, we are excited to begin launching Equip Nights in August. Equip Nights are not only an opportunity to begin taking steps towards regathering corporately but will also be full of practical training and equipping for following Jesus in your daily life.

As you know, since the beginning of the Coronavirus pandemic we have all been affected in various ways and one thing is certain, we all have wrestled with our loss of normalcy. It is our hope and prayer that Equip Nights will be a step towards normalcy, and at the same time, equipping you for the new normal we find ourselves in.

SO, WHAT’S NEXT?

Monday, Sept. 14th — Men’s Equip Night, 7-8:30 PM - Northeast Baptist Church - 2930 MacArthur View, SATX 78217

Monday, Sept. 21st — Women’s Equip Night, 7-8:30 PM - Northeast Baptist Church - 2930 MacArthur View, SATX 78217

We know much of our church family has children, so we are encouraging husbands stay home with the kids to free up their wives to attend the Women’s Equip Night and vice versa.

We want all of you to know that at the heart of our decision making is our desire to care for each of you deeply, and we aim to be wise, thoughtful, and want to consider how we can best serve our church body. Men’s and Women’s Equip Nights allow us to begin regathering in a safe and sustainable way while spurring one another on as disciples of Jesus.

SAFETY PROTOCOLS

Up front, we want to make clear we will continue to follow the guidelines that our governing authorities are recommending and requiring for church gatherings. In consideration of state guidelines, we will be changing the spacing between rows, and requesting that you wear masks for when social distancing is not possible. There will be hand sanitizer available throughout the building and we will be working together with Northeast Baptist Church to sanitize high touch point areas before and after each Equip Night.

Lastly, if you or anyone in your family has a consistent cough, has a fever, or have any other symptoms that indicate you may be ill, we ask that you stay home.

We will be recording these Equip Nights and uploading them to our website the next day.

We want all of you to know we genuinely love each of you and want to say thank you for being patient and flexible during this season.
