king jesus gives peace

“Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, wise men from the east came to Jerusalem, saying, “Where is he who has been born king of the Jews? For we saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him.” — Matthew 2:1-2

Jesus was not born to become a king — he was born King!

As King, Jesus loves His people and says, “Come to me, and I will give you rest” (Matt. 11:28–30). Our King isn’t demanding more from us in this life; He is calling us to Himself.

So, to the one who feels overwhelmed by the chaos of our day, the weight of sin, or the perplexity of their circumstances—take heart and remember the words of King Jesus: “I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world, you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world” (John 16:33). Like the wise men, may we seek Jesus and worship Him, for in Him we find rest, life, and peace.

Prayer

Lord Jesus, may we fear not, for You are with us! Help us remember Your words and remain close to You. You are the King who has adopted us into Your family. In You, may we find comfort, security, and rest for our souls.

Amen.
