PRAY FOR our city leaders
“Honor everyone. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the emperor.” — 1 Peter 2:17
We are called to pray for and honor the leaders God has appointed in our city. Think today about your call to honor everyone, love the brotherhood, fear God, and honor our local leaders, like our text calls us to. Journal creative ways you can obey this command over the coming year.
Then, pray that God would grant us favor in our city to do the ministry Jesus has called us too. May that favor pave the way for more people to love and trust Jesus. Pray against obstacles that might hinder the proclamation of God’s word.
Pray that God would save our city’s leaders.
Pray for God’s wisdom over them as they lead.
Pray that our city’s leadership makes a way for effective ministry.
Pray for the good of our city.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, please remind us to pray for our city leaders often. Make us a church that loves in both word and deed. We know that your love is not the current cultural definition of love. We want our city to know your love. The love of Jesus. Make way for His grace to spread like wildfire in our city.
Amen.
