THE peace of god

“Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice. ...do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. 7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” —Philippians 4:4, 6-7

God’s peace is promised to His people who continually seek after Him in prayer. This command to pray for all things reminds us that there is nothing that God does not care about, a fact that is a source of great comfort and peace. This peace is a vital line of defence against the forces of our enemy, shielding us from lies and helping us to call to mind the truth.

Prayer

Holy Spirit, renew in us Your peace. Help us to remember to bring all things to You in prayer. Guard our hearts and minds always and lead us in the truth. Do not let the troubles of the world overtake us, but help us rise to meet and overcome them.

Amen.
