THE JOY OF THE LORD

“You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.”
—Psalm 16:11

The “fullness of joy” can only be found in the presence of the Lord. The joy of the Lord is richer, fuller, and complete; it is the only true satisfaction that can be had in life. The best the world can offer is counterfeit, a cheap facsimile of the real thing. This joy is not circumstantial, but comes from knowing the path of life – knowing, loving, and trusting in the Lord Jesus Christ, and following His word, will, and ways.

Today, let’s pray in thankfulness to God for revealing the path of life to us. Let’s remember that the only source of true joy is in Jesus, and commit ourselves to walking in obedience to Him.

Prayer

Lord Jesus, Your name is above every name, and we thank You for revealing Yourself to us. We believe Your word when You say that the fullness of joy is in You, and we thank You for giving us this joy so freely. Help us to walk in it and to know, love, and trust You more. Help us to keep to Your path of life, rejecting the false things of the world and holding fast to what is real, good, and true.
