joy has dawned
“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” —Isa 9:6
“Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and they shall call his name Immanuel" (which means, God with us). —Mat 1:23
“And he said to me, "It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. To the thirsty I will give from the spring of the water of life without payment.” —Rev 21:6
Christ is born, and this is the dawn of our joy! Today we celebrate and thank God for His gifts of love, mercy, grace, and eternal life, given through His son Jesus Christ. This day also marks the beginning of the end, and so we look ahead with joyful anticipation to Jesus’s promised return.
As we celebrate this Christmas morning with our family and friends, let’s remember to:
Praise God for giving us His son, Jesus.
Pray for our friends, family, and neighbors who have not yet received Him.
Pray that we would remain vigilant and ready for His return.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank You for the gift of Your son, Jesus Christ. We are blessed beyond compare to receive Him. We remember that our joy comes from You and You alone. We pray that the hearts of our friends, family, and neighbors would be softened to receive You, and that You would use us as You see fit to reach them. We thank You for our Immanuel, our God with us. Help us to remember Him always. Come Lord Jesus, return to us soon.
Amen.
