PRAY like nehemiah

“let your ear be attentive and your eyes open, to hear the prayer of your servant that I now pray before you…” — Nehemiah 1:6

Throughout the history of Christianity, every fruitful mission begins with prayer. Starting today, we as an entire church family will be setting aside the next 40 days to pray boldly that God would move powerfully in our midst as we close out the year.

Below is a guide based on Nehemiah’s prayer:

P — Praise God for who He is (1:5)

R — Repent of sin (1:6-7)

A — Acknowledge God’s greatness and agree with God’s promises (1:5, 8-9)

Y — Yearn for God’s blessing (1:10-11)

O Lord, as we begin our 40 days of prayer we praise you for you are great, mighty and awesome! You are perfect and good in all you do. Forgive us for not trusting you, forgive us for doubting your goodness towards us. You have promised to be with us always, so we know you hear our prayers and care for our needs. We ask for your blessing upon your church, our city, and its people.

Amen.
