our god hears our prayers

“So we fasted and implored our God for this, and he listened to our entreaty.” — Ezra 8:23

The Bible is overflowing with examples of how communal fasting led to God doing mighty things and answering prayers. Ezra 8:23 is one of them! As Ezra and God’s people fasted they brought their prayer requests to God, and God answered their prayer! Here we are reminded that when we come together as a community to seek God's wisdom, guidance, and blessing, he both listens and responds.

What are you asking God for today? Where do you need God’s grace and provision? Implore our great God with confidence as you pray and fast today!

• Pray specifically where you long for God’s glory to be seen in your life.

• Actively takes steps to seek God’s presence today.

• Be specific in your requests as you yearn for God’s blessing today.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, we implore you today: We need you wisdom, your guidance, your provision, your presence, and your power. Hear our prayers, O Lord, the prayers of your people. May your hand be upon us for good as we seek you today.

Amen.
