IT’S ALL ABOUT JESUS - a look at Our new sermon series
From day one, the top passion and priority of our church has been to make much of the name of Jesus. Pointing people to the person and work of Jesus is our chief aim in all we do! Historically, Jesus has had followers, others, simply just distant fans, and, while others, opposing foes. Jesus is equally the most polarizing and famous person in all of human history. More songs have been sung to him, artwork created of him, and books written about him than anyone who’s ever lived. Even our calendar is based off his life, dividing time before and after him.
A lot of people have an idea of who Jesus is. In Jesus’ day everyone had their opinion about who he was. Some thought he was a good person or a prophet, while others thought he was a blasphemer. The same is true for us today. Many of us have developed our view of Jesus based on some idea generated from the media, maybe from past church experiences, books, or a friend. Though many of us have ideas of who Jesus is, it doesn’t mean we actually know Jesus. The only way to get to know Jesus is to understand what the Bible says about him.
Throughout our time in this sermon series we will be looking at various passages in the the Bible to draw our conclusions about who Jesus is, what he has done, and how that has bearing on us as a church. Specifically, we will look at Jesus: his church, mission, and power because we believe Jesus is the true Lead Pastor of our church and we have been tasked to carry out his mission though the strength of his power. Any way we look at it, we will see it truly is all about Jesus.
Join us this Sunday at 10:30 am as we begin our new sermon series: It's All About Jesus - His Church, Mission & Power
