By Hunter Billingsley
To all my friends in the faith at The Well,
My heart’s desire for all the songs we sing together, and especially the ones that we write, is that you take them and make them your own. I want our songs to sound like us – not me, not Kidron, but the people of this city who call Christ their Lord and The Well their church.
I wrote “No Other Gospel” to be an anthem for our series on the book of Galatians, with lyrics lifted straight from that study; but for me, the song encapsulates a particular time in the life of our church. When we first sang this song together, we didn’t know if we’d even have a place to gather for worship for much longer, but we united in tireless prayer for God to make a way. Now looking back, we can see just how faithful He was in the midst of all that uncertainty, and rejoice that He does indeed answer our prayers. So when we sing this song together, it’s not only a testament to God’s faithfulness toward us in the past, but an assurance of His present and future faithfulness, for us at The Well and for all who bear the name “Christian.”
I hope that this song can be an Ebenezer, a marker of remembrance, for you as well. Enjoy it, it’s yours.
