“So we fasted and implored our God for this, and he listened to our entreaty.” — Ezra 8:23
The Bible is overflowing with examples of how communal fasting led to God doing mighty things and answering prayers. Ezra 8:23 is one of them! As Ezra and God’s people fasted they brought their prayer requests to God, and God answered their prayer! Here we are reminded that when we come together as a community to seek God’s wisdom, guidance, and blessing, he both listens and responds.

Prayer
Heavenly Father, we implore you today: We need you wisdom, your guidance, your provision, your presence, and your power. Hear our prayers, O Lord, the prayers of your people. May your hand be upon us for good as we seek you today.
