“Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.” — Philippians 4:8
Our thoughts shape our hearts and actions. God’s Word calls us to focus on what is true, honorable, just, pure, lovely, commendable, excellent, and praiseworthy. In a world filled with lies, idolatry, and cultural distortions, this command serves as a lifeline for Christians. Instead of being swayed by deception, we anchor ourselves in God’s truth. Today, may we examine our hearts, recognize any lies we’ve believed, and replace them with God’s truth. May the Lord transform us and better equip us to lead others in His ways.
No one is beyond God’s reach — even those who have opposed Jesus for decades. As we pray today, may we trust boldly that God’s truth will overcome lies, leading us to greater freedom in Christ. Pray also for courage, clarity, and compassion as we seek to share Jesus with those He places in our lives.
Prayer
Lord, fill our minds with what is true, honorable, just, pure, lovely, commendable, excellent, and praiseworthy. Reveal the lies we are believing and help us believe your truth over those lies. Empower us to share the gospel boldly with friends, family, and strangers, trusting that no one is beyond your reach. Let us encourage one another to witness fearlessly, knowing you are mighty to save.
Amen.
