Join us for our Online Family Meeting
By Al Johnson
Now more than ever, we have been reminded of the reality that we are not made to live life alone. God wired and created each of us to live life together in community with each other. Over the last several months we’ve had to adapt and overcome a variety of obstacles, and along the way we’ve seen Jesus’ faithfulness.
Up to this point, the primary touch point for community has happened virtually in small clusters. For many, you have remained very connected to a small group of people and are highly aware of all the great things Jesus is doing among you, but you aren’t as aware of what God is doing in other groups. The staff and I have the privilege of hearing stories of how God is growing and sustaining our church through this pandemic and we want to create a space to include everyone in on that excitement. So, we want to get the entire family together and have a meeting. Not a task driven meeting, but a meeting of celebration and encouragement.
Starting next week, we will begin monthly Family Meetings held via Zoom. Family Meetings will exist as an opportunity for all of us to gather as an entire church family, celebrate how Jesus is at work among us, and partake in communion as we remember Christ’s sin-atoning sacrifice. It has been five months since we have taken communion together, and while this isn’t as ideal as taking it together in person, we believe that where the ideal is lacking God’s grace will abound.
Since we will be taking communion together, please be sure you are prepared ahead of time with either grape juice or wine, as well as a cracker or bread. I really believe this will be a special Spirit-empowered moment for us as a church. So, make plans to be there!
Our next Family Meeting will be on Wednesday, Sept. 23rd at 7:30pm via Zoom. You can click the button below to join the Family Meeting!
