LIVING FOR THE FUTURE
When it comes to thinking about the future and legacy it’s not just about having biological children. All Christians are called by Jesus to be ‘fruitful and multiply’ by making disciples of Jesus. We agree with God that He wants to use this church to make Jesus’ name great in our city and the world. As a church we are dedicated to making disciples of Jesus, being continually reminded of the legacy that Jesus himself began.
We believe what we do now has lasting effects on our future. This means we don’t wait until our children go off to college to look toward the future. We begin now by thinking about the future legacy of faithfulness we want to leave. We want to be a church that blesses every generation possible so as many as possible would know and love Jesus!
GIVING FOR THE FUTURE
This past Friday we began our Living For The Future: 40 Days Of Prayer campaign. Traditionally, every time God wanted to do a great thing He started by having His people pray. Prayer doesn’t change God, it changes us. We need the right heart and mind to willfully participate with our time, talent, and treasure in what God is calling us to be a part of.
God has called the members of The Well to give cheerfully and sacrificially of our finances as part of our worship as we participate in what He is doing. We would like you to consider joining us in our Living For The Future giving campaign! Your gifts will help build a legacy and fulfill God’s vision for our church to equip generations of disciples of Jesus.
During this giving initiative our prayer is that God would give us $30,000 over and above our regular tithes and offering to help us start off 2019 running full force. We believe Jesus has given the vision, so we trust that He will graciously provide the means to do it through His people.
Your gift will go towards helping us jump start the following initiatives in 2019:
SOUTHTOWN EVENING SERVICE
Southtown is one of the least churched areas in our entire city. It is also the location of our largest community group. Over the past year we sensed The Lord leading to start an evening service to provide an opportunity for those who would never attend church on a Sunday morning an opportunity to know and meet Jesus.
UTSA
UTSA is one of the largest and fastest growing universities in our state, and by some estimates, even the nation. With about 3% of the campus are Bible believing Christians, and with the attendance continuing to climb more workers must be sent into the harvest. We already work closely with campus ministries BSM and CRU. Our hope is to be able to help support gospel ministry on the ground by sending laborers and resources into the harvest of UTSA.
CHURCH PLANTING IN THE MIDDLE EAST
There are millions upon millions of people who live in this part of the world with almost zero access to the gospel of Jesus. We believe God is opening up an opportunity for our church to join Him on His mission in the Middle East, for us to partner with a developing network of church planting churches.
MERCY & JUSTICE MINISTRY
Last year, by God’s grace we were able to launch our mercy ministry to care for the needs of those in our congregation who are in crisis or challenging circumstances. This year we hope to not only to grow this ministry internally but to take steps toward expanding outside the walls of our church and into the city to care for those in crisis there.
We need $30,000 to jump start these four initiatives. Reaching this goal will require sacrificial giving that is over and above regular giving. We are asking you to pray and seek God on how specifically he is leading you to give in this season. You can partner with us in what God is going to do this year in and through The Well Community Church by giving a tax-deductible donation to our Living For The Future giving campaign using one of these methods:
