Yesterday we began a new sermon series, Jesus Reigns, along with our annual end-of-year Christmas Giving Campaign. During this year’s giving initiative, our prayer is that God would give us $35,000 over and above our regular tithes and offerings to help us take the needed steps to accomplishing the vision God has given us for 2024!
Over the past year, we have seen significant growth of our congregation through people meeting Jesus, couples getting married, families having babies, gospel partnerships, and our online presence. As Jesus continues to open doors for effective ministry, we trust that he will graciously provide the means to do it through his people.
Your gift will go towards helping us jump start the following initiatives in 2024:
CONTENT PUBLICATION
We love Jesus and preaching the Bible, and in order to expand the impact of our preaching ministry, we want to produce content that coincides with the major sermons series this next year to help you better know and apply God’s word.
Starting in January, we will begin studying the book of Judges. If you’ve never read Judges, brace yourself, it’s a wild cautionary story of the effect of generational apostasy and the faithfulness of God to preserve his people in spite of themselves.
I have already begun the process of writing a study guide that will be a complement to this series and we are praying The Lord uses it to edify and bless his people. The publication of more content like this is only possible because of the generosity of God’s people. We love helping others know God’s word and we are really excited about what God has in store next year.
ONLINE MINISTRY
Over the past year the Lord has unexpectedly expanded our online reach. On our YouTube channel alone we’ve had a total of over 649 hours of watch time from people all over the world. San Antonio, the city where we do ministry, is actually the city with the fewest viewers of our online content. Meaning this, the majority of the people we are reaching online do not attend our church, or live in our city. Our online presence has become a truly unique ministry outlet. Therefore, in order to maximize our reach we must invest our time and resources more strategically. Reaching this year’s end-of-year giving goal will help us to be able to take the necessary steps through the doors God has opened.
LOCAL CHURCH PLANTING COHORT
We believe the Lord is opening up for us a new opportunity to invest in other pastors and churches in our city. With the culture becoming more hostile to Christianity, pastoral burnout and church closure is on the rise. We want to put steel in the spine of like minded pastors in the city, and put hope on their horizon. So, we are actively taking steps towards establishing a true biblical brotherhood the help pastors lead and navigate in this cultural moment.
PASTORAL RESIDENCY PROGRAM
Our aim is that by the end of 2024 we have officially launched our new pastoral residency program and have enlisted our first resident. We are in the process of designing a 3 year leadership development program that exists to assess, train, and enlist called and competent men to be pastors & church planters. Throughout the program residents will better learn how to be Christian leaders in the city of San Antonio. We will also work alongside residents to wrestle with hard questions and assess the call of God on their life. We will teach doctrine and theology while supplying the opportunities for residence to apply what they learn to the context of local church ministry.
NEW WORSHIP SPACE
We moved into a new location back in April of this year. Since then we’ve continued to see God expand our church in nearly every metric. We love our landlord and the relationship we have with Aid The Silent. This building has been a blessing in ways that we could have never imagined. If you’ve been to The Well for any length of time in the past few months you know we have rapidly outgrown the space we are in, especially in The Well Kids. To help sustain what God is doing we’ve moved to two services and are considering moving to three.
Currently, we’ve grown at a rate that is well beyond our financial capacity to move locations right now. So, one of our goals over this next year is to be in a position to find a location that can properly hold our growing congregation. We are trusting God to sustain us and provide for what’s next in this coming year.
